About Us

Built on experience. Driven by craftsmanship. Reside Construction was founded in 2018 when Marlon Cosmas and Nick Hodgson joined forces - combining decades of experience, a shared set of values, and a genuine passion for building high-end architectural homes. Heath Kamins, who started out as an apprentice under Nick, is now the third director of the business. 

Together, the three of them have built Reside into one of the Bay of Plenty's most respected architectural building companies - with a reputation earned project by project, client by client, over eight years of consistent, high-quality work. 

Before Reside, both Marlon and Nick ran their own successful building companies - Nick here in the Bay of Plenty, and Marlon in London where he led JAM Builders, a residential construction company. That breadth of experience - across different markets, different scales of project, and different client expectations - shapes the way Reside operates today.

The Bay of Plenty is home to all three of us - and we wouldn't have it any other way. We believe this region has the best of everything New Zealand has to offer, and we're proud to be building some of its finest homes. From Tauranga and Mount Maunganui through to Ōmokoroa and Waihī Beach, we operate across the wider Bay with three dedicated building crews and a team of trusted trades partners we've worked alongside for years.

We're not the kind of business that says yes to everything. We're selective about the projects we take on - not because we're precious about it, but because we believe the best builds come from the right fit between client and builder. If we don't think we're the right team for your project, we'll say so honestly and point you in the right direction. 

When we do take on a project, we give it everything. Clear communication, meticulous attention to detail, and a level of care that goes well beyond what's expected. the team behind every Reside build.

  • Marlon oversees the business across everything from current projects to new business development. Based at our Waihī Beach office, he brings a big-picture perspective and a genuine passion for the construction industry - particularly around developing the next generation of builders. Marlon sits on the Master Builders Bay of Plenty Board and leads Reside's apprenticeship program, which he's deeply invested in. When he's not on site or in the office, you'll find him on the golf course.

  • Nick is the calm head on the tools. With years of hands-on experience and deep trade knowledge, he leads by doing - preferring to be out with the crew rather than behind a desk. He's the kind of person who gets stuck in and keeps things running smoothly, and the team respects him enormously for it.

  • Heath started out as an apprentice under Nick - and is now one of Reside's three directors. He keeps every project running smoothly and makes sure the crew on site has what they need, when they need it. You might recognise his face from our project update content - but behind the scenes, he's the one making sure everything stays on track. When he gets some downtime, you'll find him out hunting or on the water with a fishing rod in hand. 

Heath Kamins

  • Jane is the person behind the scenes who makes sure the day-to-day actually happens. From managing schedules and logistics to keeping everything moving smoothly, she brings calm, clarity, and a whole lot of get-it-done energy to the team. Jane also works closely with clients as our in-house interior consultant - helping bring their interior vision to life from the early stages of the build, making selections feel considered and cohesive rather than overwhelming.
